The disorder of pilosebaceous unit is called acne which is a skin disease. the pilosebaceous unit consists of a hair follicle, a hair and a sebaceous gland. the overproduction of sebum results in accumulation of it in the follicles along with dirt and then growth of bacteria. This results in infection and causes numerous red coloured, swollen pimples on the face. Acne can occur on the face, upper neck and chest. the doctor who looks into all such skin diseases to cure them is called a dermatologist.
