For others, seeking treatment can save a lot of emotional hardship and will help prevent scars.

Any acne treatment is most successful when it is incorporated with a daily skin regiment. Paying attention to the ingredients of any cosmetics, soaps and creams applied to the skin provides a good foundation. All skin care items should not contain oil and should be labeled as non comedogenic. do not overdo it on cosmetics and lotions. And get in a routine of washing your face to remove all products every night. once you have a healthy skin care regiment established, you have built a good foundation for further acne treatment.

There are many different options for acne treatment. Topical treatments are common. These options usually contain ingredients to clear pores and may cause the skin to become dry. a topical treatment may contain Vitamin a, which is dangerous for pregnant women. Oral antibiotics are another option for treating acne. this can also be done through surgical means. Microdermabrasion and chemical peels are examples of surgical treatments. It is extremely important that you tell your doctor about all prescriptions you take and your current state of health. if you are pregnant, talk to both your OB and your dermatologist before you undergo acne treatment.

Acne treatment is a continual process. the true outcome will not be known if you do not follow a routine. many dermatologists advise patients to try a new acne treatment if the current one does not help reduce acne within several months.
