a WOMAN has described the terrifying moments she was attacked by a man who she tried to help in Mosman Park last week.

Sarah, who did not want her surname published, was attacked at about 7.20pm on Wednesday last week as she walked along Victoria Street.

After hearing the man shouting for help, the 28-year-old walked in the direction of the calls and saw a man standing on the corner of Buckland Ave and Victoria Street.

The 28-year-old victim of a violent assault on a Mosman Park street says she has been traumatised by the attack and is yet to return to work.

The woman, who wanted to be identified only as Sarah, was hit over the head and knocked to the ground after she responded to a call for help while walking along Victoria Street about 7.20pm on Wednesday night.

Sarah said the man punched her, threw her to the ground and tried to tear off her clothes before hitting her once again after she tried to get up and running off.
